In an interview this morning with Sirius NFL Radio co-hosts Bob Poppa, Randy Cross and Peter King, ESPN’s Sal Paolontonio gave a phenomenal update to the Marvin Harrison investigation in Philly. Paolontonio reiterated constantly that Harrison is not a suspect, and not likely in any real trouble, but gave some interesting tid-bits regarding the investigation.
Apparently, Harrison handed over a rare “cop-killing” gun, specially designed to kill police officers due to its ability to penetrate kevlar vests and shoot seven times the speed of a normal pistol. Now, we know that Harrison was the one who turned in the gun, but there is no evidence suggesting it was his gun, or that he was in any way, shape or form related to the person who owned the gun.
Paolontonio didn’t jump to any conclusions regarding Harrison’s status, but added that commissioner Roger Goodell may want to ask Harrison what he was doing with this rare firearm.
Apparently three police officers have been killed recently using similar weapons, and this could be part of a much bigger investigation. The casings found at the scene of the crime matched the gun Harrison handed in.
